Your Day by Day Itinerary:

 

July 13                   Depart Parsippany at 8am. Arrive in Corning, NY in time for lunch at leisure. After lunch we enjoy a private tour of the Corning Glass Museum, including a glass blowing demonstration. After visiting rest of museum on own, take the free shuttle bus to the Rockwell Museum. Tour this tiny gem on your own. Then join us at the Radisson Hotel a few blocks from the Rockwell Museum for your overnight stay. Evening at leisure to explore Corning’s Gaffer District.

July 14                   We depart Corning for Letchworth State Park, called the “Grand Canyon of the East”. Have lunch on own at the historic Glen Iris Restaurant before departing for Chautauqua. We arrive before dinner at the Chautauqua Suites hotel for our four night stay.  Enjoy leisurely dinner at hotel or take hotel’s free shuttle to the Chautauqua Institution for an evening’s entertainment. July 15                   This morning we get a private bus tour of the Chautauqua Institution grounds, learning about the history and venues. Spend the balance of the day exploring the 400 acres of lovely grounds, attending lectures, concerts or workshops of your choosing. Or perhaps explore the waterfront activities on Lake Chautauqua. This evening we have a group dinner at a lovely local restaurant. (B, D)

July 16                   Take an optional tour to Jamestown to visit the National Comedy Museum and Lucille & Desi Arnaz Museum, or continue experiencing Chautauqua Institution’s many entertainment options. (B)

July 17                   At leisure for our last full day in Chautauqua to enjoy concerts and lectures. (B)

July 18                    This morning we depart for Rochester. We have lunch on own on route and arrive at the George Eastman Museum in time for an afternoon tour. After leisurely exploring the museum and grounds, we check into the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Rochester, where you may enjoy a choice of restaurants and entertainment options. (B)

July 19                We head for Utica, en route to Albany.  We visit the Munson Williams Proctor Museum, where we will get a tour of the Tiffany Glass Exhibit.  We then proceed to Albany, where after a walking tour of the Capitol District we enjoy a farewell dinner at a gourmet Restaurant. July 20Our last day, we depart for the FDR National Park in Hyde Park. After touring the grounds and museums, enjoy a gourmet box lunch as we will head for Storm King Art Center, an outdoor sculpture museum for a jitney tour of the grounds. Our last leg is the trip home, arriving in Parsippany about 6pm. (B,L)

The price of this trip includes bus transportation, hotels stays including tax and baggage handling, all breakfasts, one box lunch and two dinners, three day all-day pass to Chautauqua Institution, all museum and park admissions and private tours as described in itinerary. Not included are meals not specified, alcoholic beverages, tips to bus driver, tips to housekeeping in hotels, items of a personal nature, and optional events including tour to National Comedy Museum in Jamestown.

Deposit of $500 per person is required to hold reservation. Final payment is due May 15, 2019. Payment may be made by check payable to Mark Travel or credit card.

Dress code throughout trip is casual. Evenings may be cool, so bring a light jacket or sweater. Please pack light. We are limited to one large suitcase and one carry-on bag per person.
